Indomitable spirit

TTT
Pavel Loupal, 1977-2013
Ondřej Vrábel, 26.11.2013 – "Here lie 300, who did their duty." - that´s classical quotation from Taekwon-do Encyclopedia as example of indomitable spirit. For me personally, Pavel Loupal is even better example for his long fight with serious illness.

Pavel started his taekwondo career in home Třebíč during 1992 with few year´s break and then returned to our martial art in Sonkal during 2002. Pavel loved travelling and visited large part of our planet during his high school and university studies. His experiences both serious and funny happily shared with us. Year 2006 was his Round the World trip year when he visited places in Africa, Asia and America. One of Pavel´s stories from this journey had taekwondo background. As he travelled through Syria he visited small taekwondo dojang and after training discussed techniques with local instructor. While in friendly argument, syrian instructor brough mobile phone with "their" videos to show what is correct. Pavel enjoyed this demonstration very much, as there were local dojang logo through the video, but the video itself was downloaded from our Sonkal website :o)

His Round the World journey was stopped as signs of serious illness occured.

Prognosis of doctors were very sad, but Pavel was against stereotypes as he had done in whole his life. He had beaten the statistics more than 10 times (despite of medical consequences reaching I. Dan in 2009!).

Pavel was person who helped and improved work of Czech Taekwon-do federation server and website. He travelled to North Korea (visited South Korea in 2006) with national team in 2011 to extend his knowledge about different cultures.

Unfortunately his health started to diminish again in 2012, but Pavel fought hard again. Despite of his try and help of family and friends, Pavel passed away on 19 November 2013.

Let me write variation on quotation of Jan Werich about G.B. Shaw.:
„Pavel Loupal was alive for 35 years. Was it long or short life?Short one, bacause if Pavel stayed for 250 years more he would still have clever things to say....so it is....in the meantime there are plenty of men of his age who don´t have anything to say for past 450 year."

Pavel, I will miss our discussion about techniques. You may learn from General in person now.

It is worth to visit Pavel´s website where are not only photos from his journeys, but much more http://www.loupal.net/
