Three cups for best club, female junior and female kid competitor
15.12.2003 – Last competition this year in Czech republic was „Fifth Christmas tournament“ held in České Budějovice (13.12.2003). In sport hall with five rings ruled Christmas spirit and after break majorettes´ show makes whole competition more interesting and colorful.
Our team, led by trainer Ondra Vrábel, was made up just from 10 competitors and referee Jan Dvořák, but despite of this fact, we achieved nice results and positions.
Though Lukáš Topol didn’t get any medal neither in patterns nor sparring, we have to compliment him, because he was very brave in his first (!!!) tournament sparring. It’s becoming a tradition that Ivana Hřebačková and Dominika Bardonová fight in final of female kids 4.-3.kup category (so gold and silver medal for us – check result list). Unluckily Ivana didn’t achieve any medal in sparring this time, because of stomachache appeared during first round, which force couch to stop the match. Even Monika Junová practiced well in patterns, she wasn’t able to defeat opponent from home tkd school, but got bronze medal anyway. In sparring Monika got bronze medal too, and showed us that she is talented and is becoming skillful fighter. For Linda Deutchová this tournament was her last in kids category, it was nice „kid finish“ for her :o) . In patterns (2.-1.kup) she defeated all of her opponents faultlessly and continued in this way in sparring too, one of her opponents gave up the match after 25 seconds, what is sign that Linda is very strong and skillful. So Linda got two gold medals and title for the most successful competitor in her age category.
Our boys fought in a brave way too. Pavel Zavadil’s way to gold medal in patterns (black belts’) stopped czech national team member Tomáš Matějka, so Pavel got „only“ silver one. But Pavel surprised us in matsogi when he defeated not only his pretty tough opponent, but primary his own fear and got nice third place. Lucka Kolmanová became the most successful competitor in her category beating all of her patterns’ opponents, slovenian girl in first round of sparring (up to 53 kg) and in final Dominika Bardonová. Anyway Dominika fought in a great way and got to final after duel between her and girls’ team captain from Frýdek - Místek.
Our Sonkal taekwondo school got the most successful school of the tournament title between 24 schools which took part in this event.
